Preview BaBY!!!

Feather Tealight

Another one of my obsession is LED
It started in December last year
When my papa took us to Father's day celebration at Sydney Townhall
He gave us flashy plastic Tealight

This recycle project of mine started when I finished drinking a drink
and of course I have to make the best out of the plastic bottle
So, LED!!! flashy Tealight project it is!!

So.... These are what I use...

  1. A plastic bottle (No, I didn't use Fanta's hahahaha)
  2. LED Tealight
  3. Picnic plastic plate
  4. Feathers for decoration (yes, I have lots of feathers at home)
  5. Hot Glue Gun... Of course
  6. Decorating tape
Start!!

  1.  Cut the bottle into a small tube

  2. Trace and cut the plastic plate to match the size of tealight base

  3. Trace and cut the plastic cube that you cut earlier into a thick ring

  4. Hot glue the base of the Tealight to the plastic plate and hot glue the tube to the outer ring

  5. Put feathers into the tube and adjust to your preference :)

Preview Baby!!

Preview of my next Post :]

Warm your hands as they warm your heart :D

As promised.. Here I am with the another of my LAST NIGHT CREATIONS
So, as I used half of my old pillow cover to complete MY UGANDA MAP PILLOW
I still have the rest of the cover
So, I decided to turn

This

into

This

They are actually easier than I thought
Because I cheated.. Hahaha
Instead of searching the internet for a pattern
I ran in to my messy dressing room to find a pair of fingerless gloves

 So you only need

  1. A pair of fingerless gloves, scissors and importantly
  2. A piece of *FELT like fabric large enough for you to make a pair of fingerless gloves
  3. Threads and needle
*Just in case you don't know what FELT is..
This is FELT
Felt is a very convenient material for most of craft lovers
because Felt is tough, dense and require no sewing at all!!
the material gets pressed to form a flat piece
Unlike woven fabric that will ended up thready and fall apart

So. NO SEWING!!!

Instructions

  1. Tracing is Cheating but I don't care haha, so trace away.
  2. My I-use-to-be-a-pillow-cover has 2 embroideries on it (isn't it perfect?). one glove need 7" of fabric. I Make sure that the middle of the embroidery is at the center of the fabric. To have the embroidery sit perfectly on the back of my hand.
  3. Sew the two sides together.
  4. You also need a separate piece of fabric for your thumb to go in
  5. Trace again to see where your thumb will be. Mark it. Make a cut as long as you marked.
  6. I cut the fabric into a strip that is wide enough to cover my thumb and of course you need 2
  7. Sew the ends closed to make a ring like the last picture
  8. Then flip the inside out to sew the thumb ring to the hole that you cut earlier.
  9. Trim and cut the excess out. Then. You're DONE!!!!

 !!TADA!!

Here we are
One RUBBISH down
Isn't it awesome when you can warm your hands
as your recycling projects warms your heart?

Pin Cushie

I toss and turn last night trying to think about what I should be making next
(actually it was 7 in the morning)
and it occurred to me while I was at work that I'll just use my left overs
(yup, left overs) fabric from last night
TO MAKE

A PIN CUSHION
Though it may sounds so oh-primary-school but I don't have a pin cushion yet
so, might as well

The Final result in my head contained these;
  1. The left over fabric  from the pillow cover I made last night
  2. A cardboard tube, one of which I have no idea where it came from
  3. Pen and parer to make a pattern but this is optional
  4. Synthetic craft wool
  5. Measuring tape and scissors
  6. Optional decorating items, I chose the left over bit from the carry bag last night
  7. Rope or any thing to tie up the fabric
  8. HOT GLUE GUN!!! I also use thread and needle but hey... Up to you..

Let's begin!!
  •  First you have to make a pattern. One round piece to cover the top of the cardboard tube and a thick strip to cover the body of the tube. Make sure your fabric is wider so you can tie it later

  • Sew the two pieces together from inside out then turn the right side out to make a tube-like cover. Like the picture above
  • Then place it over the cardboard tube, make sure the circle sits on the top part perfectly
  • You can now start stuffing!!!
  • Cut the thread and tie the bottom tightly, and pull the excess fabric up along the tube

  •  Then You may decorate it with whatever you want, however you want. GLUE GUN TIME!!

but since this is 6am (again)
I  have a dream to catch up on
but the tomorrow recycle project is SUPER AWESOME!!
I'm excited already!!
Bye for now!!

First SAVE-THE-WORLD Task

We all have our weaknesses, one of mine is this question

"Would you like to get (insert a brand of your choice) carry bag for $1 to help (insert a charity of your choice)?"

Of Course!! You said $1 right? Minus a plastic bag? Why not? Every body wins!!

Well, almost...

I realised my apartment has countless amounts of my good intention carry bags here and there. It is part of my duty to save our planet by reducing RUBBISH..

So my First Mission!!
(This is Typo carry bag)

So I'll turn this cute carry bag into a pillow case
just because I have plenty of pillow lying around as well..
Let's start!!

What you need;
  1. The Bag of your choice preferably with a nice design  mine is the map of Uganda.
  2. A pillow (minus the cover..DUHH!!)
  3. Scissors and measuring tape
  4. Pins, thread and needles (It is quite easy to hand sew but I have a sewing machine so why not?)
  5. A good spirit :]
So...
  •  Measure the Pillow in length and width mine was 14"x16"
  • Cut the excess out eg; handles or the label. To make 1 piece of fabric
  • The fabric that I ended up with is a tad bit too long in length but isn't long enough to cover the back so I cut out the old cover for the back

Pattern
* Pink represent inside, Blue is the outside so make sure you have the design facing the right way.

Cut "A" Longer than "B" because the upper part shows that the right side goes in... (You'll get me soon)

Attach the bottom together, the easiest way to make this step perfect is the put the right side together so it shows the "Pink" side and sew the bottom ( fig. C)

Now you sew the sides (fig.D)(with the pink side showing) but you still have the longer bits right? hang in there.. you fold that bit over to the other side (fig.E) and sew the sides on to the rest..

So now you can pull the right side out, adjust it a little then put a naked pillow in ... And then...

After all the

TADA!!!

And of course I didn't stop at that
I ran into the dressing room and after making such a mess in there I found

Two old tees that I don't wear anymore.
  1. The Pom print on the left had a massive hole at the back
  2. And I wore the Guns print on the right once when I dyes my hair black
and of course being me, I managed to make a big black patch at the back of it.

THEN.......
